At Styx Furniture, we work with all types of wood. With a custom order, you can choose whatever type of wood you’d like. If you know what you want, let us know. If you’re not sure what you want, we’d be happy to schedule a consultation to help you through the process of selecting the type of wood. We have found that hardwoods are beautiful with just a hard wax-oil finish and no stain. But if you need a certain tone that’s not achieved by any type of wood naturally, we’ll consult with you on the stain options we have available. We prefer to stain white oak, as it takes the color the best.

If you’d like a table that is different from our standard offerings, give us a call or email at tabby@styxwoodworking, and we’ll schedule a consultation call. In that call, we’ll go over size, shape, wood, playing surface color, and finish. We will then create an itemized quote for the order and payment instructions. For custom orders, we collect half of the cost up front in a down payment, then the rest two weeks before we deliver the furniture. When the down payment is received, we will send you an estimated delivery date.

The lead times are between 6 and 12 weeks from the time a down payment is received. Your furniture is handcrafted after the order is placed; we create items in the order they are received. Certain custom orders, if very complex, may take longer than this. We will talk to you about the estimated time during the consultation.

Yes, we have kits of fabric and wood samples that we can show you or ship to you before you make your final decision.

Yes, we offer $199 delivery and white glove assembly to most of northern Utah. The items are also available for pickup from our shop in Kaysville, Utah, or we ship anywhere in the continental US and Canada. We offer a flat rate of $299 for US shipping and will create a quote for any shipping to Canada.

The tables are finished with a hard wax oil, not a polyurethane or lacquer finish. We recommend cleaning them with water on a soft cloth or very mild soap if needed. We do not recommend Clorox wipes or anything abrasive for use on the surface.

We accept all major credit cards through our payment partners, Square and Stripe. We also offer 12-month financing through Affirm.

On custom orders, the down payment (50%) is non-refundable. On standard orders, 10% of the payment is non-refundable. If there is a problem with your table, we will work with you to make it right, send you a new part, or take a return.

Starting from raw lumber these tables are hand made in a woodshop in Northern Utah. Machinery such as jointers, planers, table saws, hand held and automated CNC machines and sanders are used as well to craft this product into a piece of fine furniture that will last you and your family for decades.

Hardwoods are our primary material. We source our materials from lumber companies in Salt Lake city that buy from around the county from locations where planting new trees is as important to the industry as harvesting them. We also use finishes with 0 VOCs and the foam used in our leaf tree product is 100% recycled material.

Styx Furniture supports a scholarship foundation called Women Who Succeed which provides mentoring and scholarships to young women in high school and college. We also strive to offer employment opportunities to skilled individuals on the autism spectrum. One of the co-founders of Styx Furniture is a woman and the other is on the autism spectrum so these are our selected areas of social support and impact.

The pricing ranges from $3250 - $7500+ depending on selection of size, wood, addition of dining tops, and addition of dining extension leaves.
